6 Signs You Are a Highly Sensitive Person
Hi lovely,
Are you a sensitive person?
What I mean is…do you feel other people’s energy and emotional states easily?
Do you get affected by certain TV shows or the news?
I know I definitely do.
I’ve been very sensitive to the energy around me for as long as I can remember.
And for most of my life, it held me back from pursuing my passions.
Everything changed, however, when I learned there is nothing wrong with me…that I’m a highly sensitive person (HSP).
Being highly sensitive is a gift, but if we aren’t taught or modeled how to thrive as a HSP, life can feel overwhelming.
We may find ourselves retreating, isolating, or coping with being overstimulated through negative habits like overeating, drinking, binge watching TV, and other mechanisms to “numb out.”
Or, we may try to “push through” and fit into the hustle and bustle culture, while knowing deep down that something isn’t right.
Often, our body lets us know: we become sick, fatigued, and can present with a host of chronic health issues from not living in alignment with our true nature.
And in many cases when we don’t grow up with parents or loved ones who are able to acknowledge, honor, and help regulate our sensitivity – we learn to deny this part of ourselves as well. This can manifest as feelings of low-self esteem, self-doubt, unworthiness, and not trusting ourselves and who we really are.
It’s important to recognize if you are highly sensitive, so you can better understand yourself and what you need to feel good.
Knowledge is power and I hope the signs below get you started!
